Our Story
Azouma wasn’t born in a corporate office; it was born around a dinner table.
Years ago, a group of close friends journeyed to America from Yemen and across the Middle East, bringing along little more than our traditions, our cherished family recipes, and an undeniable nostalgia for home. As we settled into our new lives, we realized that while Middle Eastern food was widely available, the true, authentic flavors of an authentic Yemeni home feast—the kind cooked slowly with love, patience, and time-honored spices—were nowhere to be found.
We missed the rich aroma of fresh Rashoosh bread coming straight out of the hot tandoor, the deep savory comfort of a sizzling Fahsa, and the heartwarming joy of sharing a Royal Areekah after a long week. We didn’t just want to eat our favorite foods again; we wanted to share that exact feeling of genuine warmth and togetherness with our new community.
In Middle Eastern culture, the word "Azouma" means an invitation to a feast—a heartfelt gesture of hospitality where no guest ever leaves hungry, and everyone is treated like family.
To bring that vision to life, we built a sprawling 5,000+ square foot haven designed to welcome everyone. The cuisine
Yemeni food is built on patience — slow-cooked lamb, fragrant basmati, and spice blends refined over centuries. The lamb mandi here is impossibly tender, deeply aromatic, and served on a platter built for sharing.
The generosity
Portions at Azouma are almost comically generous — one order regularly becomes two meals, and nobody leaves wanting. Staff love guiding first-timers, and that welcome is as much a part of the experience as the food.
